It was strategically planned that one of Spring Creek’s Assisted Living War Heroes would be provided with the opportunity to teach a history class. This veteran was able to teach through the eyes of someone who had witnessed war firsthand. His pupils didn’t read a dry history book or take copious notes that meant nothing to them. In front of them raw and real, was a war hero telling them the story of war through his memories. This veteran was able to explain the value of the purple heart and how it takes the ultimate sacrifices to be honored with it. The experience impacted generations and provided this war hero the ability to be valued in his later years.
